Single Cut Diamond

There is often confusion between single cut diamonds and full cut diamonds as both the cuts are visually quite alike. A full cut diamond is a round brilliant that consists of 57 or 58 facets. On the other hand, single cut diamonds are cut like round brilliants but have only 16, 17 or 18 facets.

Most rough diamonds are shaped as single cuts first, and then more facets are introduced to turn them into a full cut. Single cut diamonds, also known as ‘melee’, are beautiful as accent stones, accompanying a prominent central diamond such as a round brilliant, radiant cut, cushion cut and more.

While full cuts are renowned for their unparalleled light performance, single cuts offer a quaint sense of elegance and a unique shine owing to their open facets. At Dharam Export India, we offer you the option of purchasing loose diamonds and calibrated diamonds in a single cut to help you turn your high-end jewellery designs into world-class ornaments.
